Recently, as I mentioned in my last post, the topic of hope has been something that I’ve spent a lot of time musing over. Because hope is so personal, so human, and yet it can be so rational, it is really quite interesting to me. As someone whose main goal in life is to seek and identify truth, I find it fascinating to mull over the concept of hope because of this seeming contradiction.
Human...
A question that I am often asked by people in general is “why do you hope so much?” (Or something to that effect.) As a background, I should mention that I’m a rather reserved person when it comes to social interaction. I try to talk only when I have something intelligent, humorous, or worthwhile to say (a conversation takes all types, I prefer to observe). When I do talk, I don’t think it’s fair...
One of the most interesting aspects of my life has been my constant struggle to understand how people interact in social situations. While I believe I have an above average intelligence when it comes to theoretical things and ideas, I tend to be downright terrible at handling interactions with people. I am sometimes literally dumbfounded when people ask me the simplest of questions, for multiple...

This blog has been here for about three years, lying dormant every few months as I perused various interests of mine. I recently decided that I wanted to begin blogging again after my latest hiatus, and I also resolved that I ought to remove all my previous content. Old links will not work, though certainly you are free to look through various cache sites, as I’m sure you can find it there if...

College is making me nervous.
I know I still have a few years left of high school, but paying for college is making me nervous. I’m going to mainly have to rely on scholarships and student loans, especially if I can get accepted into a school outside of Ohio. If government does nothing for the next two years (which I predict it will, assuming Republicans gain a narrow majority in the House and Democrats keep a narrow...

I need to do homework.
I’d rather restart blogging though. I have a paper due tomorrow on a book I gave up reading. Just for future reference, Tamburlaine the Great isn’t exactly Marlowe’s most exciting work. A bit too archaic to be appreciated by most people nowadays, I think.

I was at sonic and saw a homeless man asking people to buy him a sweatshirt or blanket for the night. 4 beautiful teen girls you wouldn’t expect left sonic, went to Walmart, and came back with a sweatshirt for him to wear. He had tears in his eyes. Beautiful girls who still care for others GMH.

Traveling
I am going to be traveling most of this week, so unfortunately my Tumblr presence will probably be fairly limited. Hopefully not as limited as it has been in the past few days. Anyhow, I hope that I will not be missed.
Have a fantastic week, everyone!

What is Anger?
What is anger, but a fleeting passion? Or is it an all-consuming fire, Turning all in its path to wastes, ashen?
Anger seems to never stop. It burns like a dry forest Flames leaping, crackling—pop!
Anger is an obvious emotion; It travels from soul to soul, Never ceasing once set in motion
But if it is anger you want to beat, Simply set your heart free Release yourself in...

Coming out as gay and knowing that you might end up losing your family for making the decision in order to remain true to yourself is a very brave and tough decision to make, however what heterogay, a Reddit user, decided to do last week takes it to a different level, He came out to his family in response to their...

We want an angry Obama? →
I saw this article and thought the title was interesting. I continued to read it, and I am now utterly confused. Why on earth do you want your president to be angry? Moreover, why is CNN using the “angry black man” card? Yes, Americans are angry. I’m angry. But do you know what? Anger typically clouds your vision. Clearly, Obama has applied that to the way he handles...

Running Away
Figuratively, I have been running away from my parents in the recent past. I have essentially abandoned the ideals, principles, and other things that I had been taught and took for granted. I always thought that the statement “ignorance is bliss” was a little funny, but I now truly appreciate the statement. Along with my venture to attain truth, I have come to the realization that truth might...

“If It Was My Home” uses a combination of software services to give users a better perspective on how massive the BP oil spill is. Essentially, it will place the range of the oil spill over your home. This is absolutely stunning, and it really shows how horrible this atrocity really is.

A worldwide forest fire
We need a worldwide forest fire. Now, I am not being literal, as you may have guessed. The worldwide economy needs the equivalent of a forest fire—a dismantling to save it, if you will. Now I am nearly positive that you have seen or heard of this idea before, but I think this is a truly ingenious principle.
Consider the world economy as it is today. Currently each market is typically...

Frustrations with Humanity
I’ve been fairly frustrated lately with how issues in life are dealt with (or not) by way too many people. When certain ideals, regulations, and such are passed by people, they can be removed by people. If something is instituted by a human being, another human being can destroy it. This seems to make sense to most people until we hit the establishment of law. It is almost as if we have...
