BP was Granted "Categorical Exclusion" from Environmental Regulation by Obama Administration
BP was granted “categorical exclusion” from an environmental impact analysis of “Deepwater Horizons” in April 2009 by Obama’s head of interior Ken Salazar.
From environmental-activism.suite101:
The Minerals Management Service (MMS) granted the British Petroleum project a “categorical exclusion,” a NEPA loophole that is designed for “minimally intrusive” projects such as outhouses and hiking trails. Without the exclusion, British Petroleum would have been required to produce a report that included a study of the probable damages caused by a blow out or spill.
The Center for Responsive Politics noted last week that candidates for federal office have received more than $3.5 million from BP and its employees in the past 20 years. CRP reported that the “top recipient of BP-related donations during the 2008 cycle was President Barack Obama himself, who collected $71,000.”
I smell a rat!
?
Who woulda thunk it?
I think it is really depressing how many Americans thought they were electing an honest guy into office when they voted for Obama. However, as many people forewarned, Obama is just another politician. There is honestly not that much that is special about him, aside from his natural charisma, which, quite frankly, should not count for much.
